Let's talk Friday's

Today I want to discuss Vents. How do you vent? Who do you vent to? Do you vent on the same topic more than once? If so, why? I know I tend to vent about the same thing. But why do I do that? I think part of my does it because I like to hear myself speak, and I think part of my does it because I'm looking for a solution. Something that I can do, which I wouldn't mind doing to fix what I am venting and ranting about. I did happen to find a cute picture on pinterest.
This pretty much sums up how I feel some days.

I'm back! and Pinteresting Sunday's

Yesterday after I posted my blog on what I hate, I was told my blog was spam. I was told it could be hate spam or link spam from my Pinteresting Sunday's page. I was a bit upset. I contacted the Google/Blogger support team, and they told me it would take a few weeks to look at my blog. Well, I woke up to an email which said my blog was fine! So....if you missed reading my yesterday you read me today and hopefully from now on!

Now on to my Pinterest finds: (again you click on the picture and it should take you to the link)
Today I'm going to talk about homemade gifts
sounds like a good idea

Oh Sugar! Secrets of the Scrub

Sugar scrubs!  I really want to try these, they look so simple and I bet they work great.
Holiday Gift Idea~ Place bagged cocoa mix in the middle of a clear jar with lid and fill the sides with peppermints, holiday candy and marshmallows. Finish with a simple bow and tag for a pretty and tasty gift.

salted caramel hot chocolate mix recipe.
Hot Chocolate mix

These are all that I have so far, but I think they might be fun to make. I think having homemade gifts will be cool this year, just as long as they are not too expensive.

Let's talk Fridays

So it's Saturday, I spent most of my Friday working on something for my family. Let's just say, even though it is only August, I have most of my Christmas presents done. I also was hanging out with my neighbors yesterday. I apologize for not posting. Today's post will focus on the Let's talk aspect with a twist. I'm going to list things in society that really bug me. This is not a dis on anyone.

To start, I hate racism. All kinds of racism, whether it is disliking someone because you are white, and they are not, or the opposite, you are black and hate white people.  Or the example of, a Mexican hating a Puerto Rican, or a  Cuban hating a Costa Rican. There is even racism among European countries, a German disliking an Italian, an English person disliking an Irish person. In today's society, it is really sad to see the racsim that occurs.

Politics on the web. I love some of my Facebook friends but sometimes their political posts can be a bit annoying. I don't mind seeing some political posts, because everyone has the right to free speech(at least everyone should) but to fill my news feed everyday with a political rant...sometimes it makes me want to block them. So this little post it perfect
Photo

The last thing that bugs me in society today is fashion problems. Such as the low pants that show everything, the short shirts the show your midriffs, I mean really that causes huge problems, the pants are low, the shirts are short, you bend over and....BAM a full moon is being shown. Fashion people, let's be realistic howto make clothes that are cute and functional.

Wow long time no posting

Hi all, sorry for not posting in a very long time. I've been super busy with work and then super tired. I also have a cold, which is no help at all. Since I missed Pinteresting Sunday last week, this weeks will be  extra special. I have a great idea for a post.

I want to breifly mention that I'm a knitter, and now that the weather is getting colder, I may be posting more things on knitting. This will be a hard topic for me to talk about(you will find out why on the first post of it) but I just want to say...look for more post on knitting.

I also want to finish talking about my wedding, like the search for a dress and all the alterations that occurs with it. As well, as everything else that occurred with planning, (including some not so fun drama that always occurs.) I an thinking of those wedding ones, as sharing a special time for me and giving some fun advice.

That's all for now folks. Here's a laugh to get you through

Cookies

Today I made Chocolate Chip cookies.  I decided to use the following recipe. It is one that I have seen my mother use for a long time. Not having the recipe she uses, I have been experimenting and trying to get as close as I can to what she makes.   Below is what I have found today.  The cookies are quiet tasty.

(since my camera is broken, I found this picture on Google)

Soft and Chewy Chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients:
1 ¼ cup white sugar                                        1 ¼ cups firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cups unsalted butter                                 3/4 Cups of  Crisco
2 teaspoons vanilla                                          3 eggs
4 cups flour                                                         ½ cup oatmeal
2 teaspoons baking soda                              ½ teaspoon salt
2 packages of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

  •  Heat Oven to 375
  • In large bowl beat sugar, brown sugar, Crisco and butter until light and fluffy
  • Add vanilla and eggs, blend well.
  • Slowly add flour baking soda and salt
  • Stir in chips
  •  Drop dough by rounded tablespoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  •   Bake for 8-10 mins
  •   Makes about 6 dozen cookies.

   Tips:
     1. I found that making sure the butter is so soft, it is almost melted works very well on making the cookies soft and fluffy.
    2. I have also found that keeping the Crisco cold is important in keeping the shape.
     3. Oatmeal really works well in chocolate chip cookies, you can't really taste it, but it is there holding the shape.
   4. You want to make sure that there is enough chocolate chips in the recipe so that you get chocolate in every bite.

Let's talk Fridays

What to talk about today.....
What I really want to discuss, I feel I cannot. For I feel that my voice would be silenced if I set my own opinions out for the world to see. So instead, to avoid any issues, I will keep with my silence.
So instead I will talk about something else that bugs me.
Puppy Mills.
The above image is  one I found off the internet. It is suppose to represent what a Puppy Mill Looks like. The definition of a puppy mill is as follows a commercial farming operation in which purebred dogs are raised in large numbers.  Often times people go there for puppies.THe puppies are cheap. But the puppies are not taken care of well. Take the examples below

This is my dog Winsotn right after I got him from the humane society. It's the best picture I could get(my camer broke shortly after) but look at how thin he is. Pretty thin for a dog.
Look at this puppy. He is thinner than my already thin dog. Look at how sad he looks.

Most of these puppies, are puppies one would see in a pet store. A perfect place to get a dog right? What happens to the moms of these puppies? Well, look below.

All of these pictures are very sad. Which is why, for me, it is a goal of mine to get rid of puppy mills. So for today's let's talk...I want to know YOUR thoughts on puppy mills.

I say, get a dog from a breeder, or rescue one from a shelter. Because dogs are lovable, adorable and well just plain cute.

What's for dinner

Today I used my crockpot and made homemade Macorini and Cheese.
Yum, right? Well, the recipe that I found online goes as follows:
2 cups of Skim Milk
1(12oz) can of Evaporated milk
1 1/2 Cups of Cheddar Cheese
Salt
Pepper
1 egg
2 cups of uncooked Elbow Macaroni
I was suppose to whisk everything but the cheddar and Mac together, pour it into the crock-pot- then add the cheese, and pasta, stir and keep on low for 3 to 4 hours. Very easy to make.

The taste...well, this Mac and Cheese was missing something. So, now it is time to play. I think I might try to make this again and again until I find the perfect way to make crock-pot Mac and Cheese.
Some ideas that I currently have are:
  • Add butter- I know that butter isn't supper healthy, but I feel it would taste a bit more flavorful. .
  • Less milk- it was very milky, not what I like.
  • Seasonings- I did use some garlic and parsley, which helped a bit, but I would defiantly season this.
  • Different types of cheese: Maybe use Cheddar, Colby, and Mozzarella?
I don't really know, but I do want to try this again and change some things up. I really hope that this works out. If it does, the official recipe will be posted.

Disclaimer

Hi all,
There has been talk about how my post name  Dear.......
To be honest, and I will say this in all Capital Letters to make my point, that post was not written about ANY ONE in general.
It was written  about a type of person, whether or not that person is male or female. It was written about a type of person who is selfish. I find it very hurtful that people  think I wrote a post bashing someone. That is not what this blog is about, this blog is about letting my thoughts out on some not so controversial topics, and some controversial topics. I do not believe in "burning" or "flaming" people on line.  I do believe in being able to state your opinions and views, whether or not people think the same way. My views were simply, if you are going to act like a spoiled little brat around me, don't expect me to be nice.
The "step-sister","step- mom" and "other daughter" phrases, were taken from Disney movies. In most Disney movies, those terms are used to describe those who don't agree with the princess's thoughts. Since I believe that I should not have to cater to selfish people, I yes, called them Princesses and yes, referred to me, and the members of my family who agree with my as the "step" or "others".
I have taken down the offensive post as to not offend anyone else. I am deeply hurt that one a the few outlets I have for my voice to be heard had to be silenced.

Pinteresting Sundays

With school starting and the season to start eating a lot of sweets on it's way, I figured I would pin some motivational and exercise things. I believe that being fit and healthy is important, to a point. One should now have to count calories, but they do need to watch what they eat.
Let's start with some motivation to get to work out.
true
I never regret when I work out. I feel so good after it. The days that I don't get to, or I plan to work out, but don't, I always feel bad afterward.
YAY truth!
I think this post says it all.
Tip yourself $1 each time you workout and after every 100 workouts, buy something you deserve. Might need to try this.

Work out tips- they may be needed, but I have yet to use them. I do like the idea of having something for motivation when working out.
Now for some work outs:
Ballet work out at home!
I believe ballet will help tone your muscles.

Lean Legs...
To get lean legs....

work out
And then a day by day work out sheet.

Let's Talk Fridays

For today I want to talk about different things that may happen and what you would do in them. I'll just jump into it and we will go from there.
1. Say you are at work and you do something that another coworker doesn't like. Instead of talking to you about it, the coworker decides to make fun of you. The coworker tells your other co workers, laughs, call you names. This said coworker does this when they think you are out of ear shot, but you hear them. No one stands up for you. What would you do?
2. You are at work. Tired from working long days and all, but at work on time. Your other coworkers are late. They come in hung over. They then talk about the night they had. A "celebration" they said. They continue to talk about how they all went out and partied together, and you are the odd one out who wasn't invited. What would you do?
3. You are driving on the side of the rode and your car starts to smoke. you pull but your cell phone is dead. The closest store is 10 miles away. What would you do?
4. There is a wild animal in your house that you are afraid of what would you do?

So what would you do?
