A blessed 3 months.

Three months ago today, my baby was born. I don't think I ever shared his birth story. I don't know if I will. The 54 hours that I labored with him, the c-section, the complications that both he and I had...everything, I just feel blessed right now.

I am lucky enough to have a semi-healthy 3 month old. Even with his minor health problems, even though there are times where he is screaming in pain and discomfort, there are times he is smiling. Those times are happening more and more. There are times he laughs, giggles and just seems like the words happiest baby.  There are times where he snuggles, cuddles up close me and holds on to me, never letting go. I know that my baby loves me, and I know that he knows I love him.

Where are you Christmas????

I love Christmas time. More or less, I love what leads up to Christmas. No, not Thanksgiving, but Advent. I know, not everyone believes what I believe, but sometimes I wonder where did Christmas go?  Lately, all I see are add on TV about getting the most expensive and greatest new toy on the market. People line up on Thanksgiving day to go Black Friday Shopping and it is all about the deals, deals, deals.

What happened to Christmas cookies? What happened to decorating the trees? What happened to singing Christmas Carols? What happened to spending time with your family?

I feel like little CindyLou Who from Dr. Seuss's  How the Grinch stole Christmas,  I really wonder where Christmas went? I don't know, maybe I'm just being reflective and crabby. What do you all think?

On a  different topic, what about the animals? People, please don't give a dog or a cat as a gift only to have given it up by Easter time. When you adopt a pet into your  family, they are yours to keep in my mind until the day that they die. And please, please bring them inside where it is warm and not sub-zero outside.

I want to lick your ear

Today I am linking up with Adriana form Dog hair is an Accessory, for a link up about....Winston.

Tall Tails Link Up

Oh boy! What can I say about my Winston boy. To start...this is his funny face

I know, so cute right! and of course, Winston loves to give people kisses. Most of the time, he ends up kissing them all over. There face, their arms, eyes, in the era, nose and mouth. But  when he looks as cute as this...there is nothing you can do to get mad at him. Of course, he is probably thinking about putting his tongue in your ear.

(ohh earwax and snot)
Well, that is my Winston tail for today.

Do you ever...

Feel that you have insomnia? Recently I have been finding it real hard to stay asleep. My mind is going  thousand miles an hour. I wake up because of my husbands snoring and from there I can't get back to sleep. I start thinking about how I can find a real teaching job, how to pay for student loans, is there a way to make more money, just stuff like that. And I'm sure everyone has those worries. But what do you do when you can't sleep because of it?

Do you ever feel that you have nothing to say?  I know there are times that I do? I also wonder about the link-ups. Should I do more, should I do less? And what ones should I do?  I know there are Sunday socials and Monday socials and week-end recaps that I can join but I don't know what ones. So for today I'm going to try just one (With no post tomorrow)

The Sunday Social

Sunday Social

This weeks questions are Pinterest based (Yay) these are easy.

1. What is your favorite outfit pin?
I would say this one because it looks so comfy and girly.

2. What is your favorite food pin?
This is grilled salmon  My husband and I have made it many times, so it is the most useful food pin which makes it my favorite, plus it has gotten me into eating salmon.

3. What is your favorite wedding pin?
Oh my, where do I start with this. When planning my wedding I had to many pins. I would say the I-spy. I made one for my wedding and my guests loved it.

4.What is your favorite DIY/Craft Pin?
I would say this one. I really want to have a house one day where I can make a few of these for each season.

5. What is your favorite quote/lyric/verse pin?

I like how this pin shows that God doesn't pick perfect people.

6. Show a random pin.

I am 100 percent against animal cruelty and I will keep fighting until one day all animals will be treated with respect.

Do NOT test on animals

Animal testing. What is it, why do companies do it and does a company have to put on a label if they test on animals?   Since this is a controversial topic, I would usually post about this on my Let's talk Friday's (which I know I haven't done in a while) but these questions keep running through my head, especially when I shower or use make-up.

Animal testing can be defined as " Cruel or cruelty free experiments on animals"  To me that doesn't make much sense. How can an experiment be cruelty free? Also do the animals or their owners consent to the testing? Furthermore- why do we test on animals when there are a bunch of people on prison who we could test on (just an idea).  To be honest, people would do a better job since they can communicate and let the researchers know that they are in pain- animals- you have to listen to them, look at their eyes, and see their sad faces. That thought is just too much for me. I would love to see a world where we didn't test on animals what about you?

Christmas tears :(

I know I said I wouldn't do another Christmas post, but with snow and the cold and something I saw the other day, I just had to do a post to get you to think. I want to warn you- this is going on a similar theme of saving animals but may show some heart wrenching photos I found on Pinterest. I really do think it is important to think of those who have less than then us.

Animals.
bwahahaha i love this!

The other day as I was driving to work at 5:45 in the morning, I saw a tiny kitten on the side of the road. I pulled over to see if it had any form of ID and the poor little thing ran off into the snow.

I didn't mean to scratch your kid. If he wasn't pulling my tail all the time, maybe I'd still be living at home. Now, I'm dirty & hungry. IGNORANCE IS INTOLERABLE. When you adopt an animal & become a Guardian, it's for life-THEIR LIFE. No animal is DISPOSABLE. TEACH your children to treat animals, by example, with kindness & respect, tolerance & patience but most of all-love for an animal's life, all their life! Animals who are being HURT or ABUSED will defend themselves-IF they have to.
It made me think, how many other animals are out in the cold, and how full are the animal shelters. I wonder if the Shelters even have enough space? The picture below  shows some of our furry friends in Shelters. Some shelters are wonderful and have space- others...don't have the space and are kill shelters.

rescue a furever friend because it's much easier than trying to "pin" tears when i see things like this. PLEASE~ RESCUE ME! Adopt Rescue Shelter Spay Neuter Transport DONATE ~~~~~Be certain to ask your friends to ADOPT, NOT SHOP. All the wonderful furkids in the shelters say THANKS!!!
Always adopt, never buy.
Will never understand how people suddenly feel their pets are too old to keep. Very sad.

What about those who are killed because there is no space or because no one wants them.

#animals #rescues

Bye bye baby

What if a dog could write a will? What would it say?

So sweet and so sad

What about other countries?

This Christmas many people are probably getting a a cat or dog, or any other cute animals. Please, if you give someone a gift that is an animal, please make sure that that animal is a forever pet.

I hope and pray they all find a home. ♥

Keep the pet until it is time for the pet to die. Do not get rid of the pet because something came up, do not get rid of the pet because you don't like it, or you don't want it anymore.

The below picture makes me smile- I think it would be a great world where bad pet owners get sent to the pound. I would love to see that.

What I would love more, is for Animal rights to be taken seriously. Please, think of the animals this Winter. Please show them some love and compassion.

Why animal rights. Harriet Beecher Stowe.

I know this is a sad post, and filled with Christmas Tears, but please remember them this holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
On a day of thanks, it's great and wonderful to be with family. I'm on my way with my husband right now to go and visit my family. Winston is all packed up, same with me and the car is getting loaded.  Today, I am just thankful for everything I have listed this month and more. Today I hope that no one gets hurt during the "black" Thursday shopping and Black Friday shopping.  But most importantly, today is a day of thanks.

I don't usually do this, but I'm giving a book review. I have recently read the book  A Dog's Purpose  by  W. Bruce Cameron.  For more information on the book please click here.

a dogs purpose
This book made me cry. I finished it in one day because, the book was that compelling. It kept me reading. I think anyone with a dog should read this book. Which leads me into my one plug, be thankful for your pets. Be thankful for your dogs. Love them because they love you. Winston is my Forever dog.  Which comes from these pins

10 Canine Commandments

This goes for all domestic animals!! I get so incredible enraged when I see people mistreat animals. D:

Let's talk Fridays

Today I want to talk about........... Clothes for pets.
Who puts their dog or cat in clothes? If so do you do it all the time or just in winter? What about dressing the pet up for Halloween? A rain coat?

I have sweaters for Winston. He is a very thin dog, with short hair.To add to his thinness, and short fur, he doesn't have a lot of fur, so when we have winter, he gets cold. Along with his sweaters, ha has a sweatshirt, a winter coat, a hat, a Halloween costume and a winter outfit(Santa Clause). Is that too much?  Since the summers are warm, I don't dress him up. I was thinking about a rain coat, but I don't want to go over board.

Isn't is funny how our pets become our families? I feel with Winston, he is my little boy. Do other people feel that way? If so, do they dress their pets up? I was thinking of booties for him for winter, and I know other people who put booties on their  dogs. I feel, that their little paws can freeze. What are your thoughts?

(Side note, in case you haven't notice, I made some changes. I will still be working on some ideas to make the blog more "warm" for winter, please look for them)

Winston time

Winston has not been talked about much, so today is all about my little pup.
As you see, he is wearing clothing. Winston loves to wear clothes. I think it is because he is pretty small for his size and gets cold easy. I have tried to feed him more, and my husband and I have talked to the vet about his weight. We were told he may end up being a thin dog. But, even though he is thin, he is healthy. The vet showed us where he has grown muscle and fat, and his blood work says he is healthy. I'm glad, because Ineed my little jumper to be healky. And yes, he is a little jumper.

Winston loves to play fetch and he loves his tennis ball or balls.
At the dog park, he will chasse them for hourss and at home, is is consstantly trying to get who ever is home to pla fetch with him. As seen in the two pictures, he even sleeps with them. When he soesn't have his tennis balls, it's his bones that he loves,

Above all, Winston is the best pet for my husband and me. He is cuddly, protective, fun and super cute. Now for more picture of him.

Winston,
A year ago yesterday, I was moving into my apartment and there were tornadoes. A few miles away,  a poor little puppy was running around. He got lost in the storm and ended up at the Humane Society.  My poor little Winston.  When I got him, he was super, duper thin.  In fact, you could see all of his ribs. Now that he's plumped up, he looks so much healthier. Next week he is going to the vet, for all of those check ups. I hope everything will be good.

Having a dog has taught me a lot. The first thing, is your life is not your own any more. You need to remember to feed him (If you don't they throw up). Remembering to let them go outside when they wake up and after they eat, and any other time they need to go out.  Walks, baths, toys. they are a lot of work. But they are also so very cute. I'm come one, look at his face. Does that not say "cuteness"?
