New Book

Today  I spent time with my mom. It was a great and relaxing. I had some energy to be able to go out and about...of course I started to yawn halfway through which isn't very fun.

But I feel so blessed. My mom took me out to eat, and bought me some new clothes to wear (for when I start to show) I don't have any maternity clothing yet, but I do have some nice new stretchy clothes. I changed into a pair of the capris right away and it felt so much better than my jeans. Even though my jeans are too big and falling off my butt, it's just nice to have stretchy, comfy clothing on.

But, on to the new book. My mom and I went to Barnes and Noble today and she let me pick out a book to read. I think I did a post a while back about ow I love to carry books with me. It gives me something to do when there is down time, or when I have to wait. I love going to the library but sometimes, I just want to be able to have a nice new book of my own.

I picked out  Meet me at the Cupcake Cafe by Jenny Colgan.

It is book with recipes. Which makes me super excited to be able to curl up and read it.

Books n Chilli n Knitting...Oh my

Hello all,
After I made a big decision about NOT letting the weather get to me, guess what. We have sun! Sun (I know...what is that) Anyway, the decision was to spend time indoors, cleaning, making chili, reading books and knitting. But now that there is sun, maybe I will go outside for a nice long walk with Winston.

So, today I plan to make my classic Chili and for tomorrow it will be spaghetti with homemade sauce. I'm reading and knitting to build an inventory for my shop. Yes after a lot of thinking I have decided to go ahead with the shop. Anyways if you want the chili recipe you can go here. To let you know there will be no recipe for the pasta sauce mainly because its a secret and also because it's not sauce it's gravy as the pin below says.

Oh the many problems of being Italian.

 Ciao,

Books, books and more books.

I haven't talked about books in a very long time. In fact, I haven't been able to read for a long time, I've been super busy  But there are some series that I can read again and again. Many of them I'm sure you, my wonderful readers, have read too.

I love  The Chronicles of Narnia all 7 of them. Re-reading them as an adult is really cool because even though they were written during World War II, they relate to a lot of the problems that are occur today.  My favorite one is the last book, The Last Battle.  I love C.S Lewis as a writer, I know some of his works are difficult to read and understand but I love how he puts Christianity into his writing.

Another series that I love is of course the Harry Potter books. (But think all of you know that I love those books)

Joshua

And one other series that I like are the Joshua Books by Joseph F. . These books are written in such a way that Jesus (Yes, I said Jesus) comes back and lives in today's modern world. They are about God, and how he can help up with all the problems in the world today. (Yes, I know, I said God) For me, my favorite of these books is Joshua and The Children.

I posted about her before, but I feel that every girl should read all the books written by Jan Austen.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
On a day of thanks, it's great and wonderful to be with family. I'm on my way with my husband right now to go and visit my family. Winston is all packed up, same with me and the car is getting loaded.  Today, I am just thankful for everything I have listed this month and more. Today I hope that no one gets hurt during the "black" Thursday shopping and Black Friday shopping.  But most importantly, today is a day of thanks.

I don't usually do this, but I'm giving a book review. I have recently read the book  A Dog's Purpose  by  W. Bruce Cameron.  For more information on the book please click here.

a dogs purpose
This book made me cry. I finished it in one day because, the book was that compelling. It kept me reading. I think anyone with a dog should read this book. Which leads me into my one plug, be thankful for your pets. Be thankful for your dogs. Love them because they love you. Winston is my Forever dog.  Which comes from these pins

10 Canine Commandments

This goes for all domestic animals!! I get so incredible enraged when I see people mistreat animals. D:

Pinteresting Sunday's-Books, and yarn

Pinteresting time!!! This week will be a busy week. The Baseball playoffs, more football games, plus it's now getting cold( like snow cold). I'm not ready for snow yet, but when it is cold the best thing is to curl up with a book or some knitting or crocheting. Below will be pins form my Knitting and crafts board, and my books board.

Persuasion (Barnes & Noble Classics Series)
Sense and Sensibility (Barnes & Noble Classics Series)
Pride and Prejudice (Barnes & Noble Classics Series)

Jane Austen: Seven Novels (Barnes & Noble Leatherbound Classics)

Who doesn't love to read Jane Austen? I think  she has become more popular as of now, but she is a classic.

Here in the Waiting Place: Free crochet patterns

Jeff saw this and told me it was a must pin. He thins it's very cute, I also think it is pretty cute and great for a little boy. Oh well, that is many years down the road.

A Pinner said "UNBELIEVABLY EASY WAY TO CHANGE COLORS!!! i've recently figured out i'm an idiot when it comes to color changing seamlessly, lol, but this was sooooo easy!!!! i just did it in a double crochet (us) ripple blanket and it's almost perfect looking :) :) so check this tutorial out and you'll be able to figure it out, too."
How to change colors
Lazy River Scarf. This scarf is so easy, I almost named it the Lazy Knitter. It’s just alternating bands of K1P1 ribbing and garter stitch, two of the most basic stitches in every knitter’s repertoire. Use them alone and they might put you to sleep – but when you use them together, they effortlessly create this wavy fabric with rippled edges.

A pretty scarf pattern
celtic love knots - great lazy day project Oh so fast crocheting...and a very pretty way to showcase lovely yarn. BUT INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT IN ENGLISH boooo

A crochet scarf...the pattern is just not in English :(

Well, those are some great pins for a cold blustery day, like today!
