Pinterest for the 4th!

Happy Wednesday and Happy 4th.

I am going away for the week end and I don't think I will be able to write a post at all. Maybe if I have time, or a chance to get on the internet, but I really don't think that will happen. So, Happy 4th of July!!! Do you know why America celebrates it? I sure hope so, because I found out today, that not everyone knows why. I also found out that not all the kids know the history of this date and our countries history. As a teacher, this is appalling to me, as a red blooded American...What in the world are our schools teaching?

And now on to some pins for the 4th. Just to let you all know, I have been super busy lately, and haven't been pinning as much as I want too (Insert sad face) but I still think these pins cut it.

Knitting E-book

Happy Monday!

Today, I'm joining a wonderful link up. Are you ready...

And, I'm reviewing an Online, knitting E book.  As this is my first review, I'm super nervous that I'm not going to do this right. So please, please, please let me know what you think.

Lace knitting! Have you done it? I have. Contrary to popular belief, lace knitting is pretty hard. For someone like me, who has knitted for a long time, I find lace knitting hard. I always stick the the easy patterns for lace knitting. Once in a while, I do venture out and try a intermediate pattern, but I always feel that I mess them up. Do you ever have that feeling? For me, it's because some how, my lace holes, look bigger, or smaller than they do in the picture. Which really bugs the perfectionist inside me.

While reading this book, I went in with a clear mind. I looked at the book, patterns and pictures. The first pattern looked doable. It makes me excited, because, I feel I could actually make the Celio shell. It really didn't look too hard and the pattern was super easy to read. (which is a plus for me)

The second pattern looks a bit more difficult. I never learned to read patterns in the graph/chart style. So those are a turn off to me right away. I have tried many times to teach myself how to read those, but..it was an epic fail. Which leads me to believe I will never be able to make the wrap. If you know how to read the graph/chart type patterns, then I guess it would be easy. 

The last pattern looked perfect for me. It's a lace to go on a pillow case and it's beautiful. I think if you are learning to start lace knitting, try the third pattern.

More chapters of my life story...

It's Thursday!!!

It's been a wonderful week weather wise. The sun has been shinning, there is a nice cool breeze coming form the Mississippi  and then bouncing back off the buffs. It has been wonderful.  So I figured, why not continue with my life story. But first, some thoughts. I'm linking up with It's Okay Thursdays  and Thursday's Thoughts today.
  My fist thought is it's okay to not write a blog post every day. Sometimes, I just have nothing to say and why should I write a nonsense post? Going off of that, how often to you my readers, have time to read my blog. I know I can't read all the blogs I follow in one day, so I pick certain ones each day to catch up on. I figure it's okay that  I get busy.  Also, it's okay that I have been nothing but tired for the past week. I think it must be allergies, so it's okay that I have them (not really, but hey the link is about stuff that is okay)

And now on to the some more chapters of my life story

Day 7- What are you most afraid of?

 Snakes, Spiders, bugs, creepy crawly things, failure, and ending up alone

Day 8- Piece of advice?

 I have a lot, but I guess one thing that is to laugh often. Laughter is great medicine. I know that there will be times in your life where you can't or don't want to laugh, but just try. 

Day 9- A moment in your day

Just because I'm loving this pin. 

This is a first type of post for me. I'm posting based off of a pin I found. (Yay Pinterest). This is the pin

I wanted to do something like it with a lamp shade that I had. The issue is well- my lape shade is not straight up and down like the one in the pin. Mien has a curve- so the ribbon wouldn't look as good. Instead I added bows and  flowers.

Sounday Social

The weather has been beautiful and I still can't kick this cold/flu that I have going on. Ugh. I better kick it before my birthday on Thursday!  Anyways- I have been loving the sun shine- opening the windows, finally getting things cleaned out- going through my closet- it's a blast. But sometimes, I want someone to talk to while doing this. So why not talk to all of you with  The Sunday Social !

1. Did you sleep walk as a child- No, I didn't sleep walk, but I do move around (like kick) in my sleep and I talk in my sleep.

2. Did you ever try to sneak out of the house or run away- Once I tried to sneak out and run away- it didn't work.

3. Did you have any imaginary friends?  I had a pet mouse named fluffy- but sadly fluffy went away. :(

4. Did you ever go toilet papering- Yes- It was my first week at a new school and some kids took me. It was fun, but sadly those kids and I aren't friends any more. Oh well, their loss.  I'm pretty cool and I think they are jealous.

5. Did you ever sneak TV shows as a kid? No. I listened to my mom and never watched anything I wasn't suppose to. I was the perfect little child who didn't break the rules.

Yummy yummy chicken pot pie

I have a wonderful husband. All the time I was sick  just wanted a good old fashion Chicken Pot Pie. I thought I would share the yumminess with you.

Crust: (This is for two small pot pies- it covers the bottom and the top- not the side)

            1 Cup Flour

            1/3 to 1/2 cup milk

           3 Tbsp butter

           2 tsp sage

          Pinch of salt

1. Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add milk and butter and kneed  until a ball forms. Put int he fridge

Inside(aka soup):

    1 can of cream of chicken soup

    1 cup of water

    1/4 cup milk

    peas

    cooked chicken cubed

    carrots

    beans

   corn

1. Mix everything together in  a sauce pan. Bring to a boil.

Put together:
              Roll out the crust- set some int he bottom of the pan. Pour the soup in. Cover with the rest of the crust. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.

Enjoy!

(I think if I were to make this again, I would brush some butter on top of the crust to give it a flaky texture and taste. What do you think?)

Today, my thoughts are this...

                    I was  tagged by Kristen from Making each Minute count. So, why not jump right on in.

1.  My lungs suck. 

I've always had breathing problems since I could remember. Between the stuffed nose, allergies, and the asthma, I can clearly say I have sucky lungs. 

2. I like Grey's Anatomy. 

It's one of my favorite TV shows. 

3. I can play my nose. 

My mom taught me.I can play certain songs on my nose and it really sounds like music. Of course Jeff thinks it's weird and all. But that's okay. 

4. I'm a geek
My favorite classes of all time are linguistics and psychology. I love language. I love different cultures and I love learning about the brain. (I know a geek)

5.  I'm a midget. 
 I don't remember if I talked about this on here yet but I'm under 5 feet so that legally makes me a midget. I'm not a dwarf  because I don't have the genetic code to be a dwarf and I'm over 4 feet.

Is it Friday yet?!?!?!?!?!?!

Hi all
 Today is Thursday. Not Friday, sometimes I want to ask Is it Friday yet?!?!?!?!  Even Winston wants it to be Friday. Look at this face, it's so cute and so...I don't want to get up, I want my day to sleep in.

and this was him the other night with his tennis ball. We had hail bigger than a quarter and he was so scared he grabbed his ball and buried himself under blankets on the bed. 

So I have a little problem, I moved where my button was placed, and now it doesn't work. Does anyone have any ideas on how to help me? 

Lastly

 that I'm depressed because of the weather.

 to spend time catching up on all the blogs that I haven't been able to read for a while. 

that I fell asleep at 8pm some day( especially when you have to get up before 5)

to eat soup when it's cold.

Do you ever...

Feel that you have insomnia? Recently I have been finding it real hard to stay asleep. My mind is going  thousand miles an hour. I wake up because of my husbands snoring and from there I can't get back to sleep. I start thinking about how I can find a real teaching job, how to pay for student loans, is there a way to make more money, just stuff like that. And I'm sure everyone has those worries. But what do you do when you can't sleep because of it?

Do you ever feel that you have nothing to say?  I know there are times that I do? I also wonder about the link-ups. Should I do more, should I do less? And what ones should I do?  I know there are Sunday socials and Monday socials and week-end recaps that I can join but I don't know what ones. So for today I'm going to try just one (With no post tomorrow)

 Today I am branching out even further in the world of blogging. It's okay to have thoughts...

Today I'm doing my two Thursday Link-ups, It's Okay Thursday with Neely and Amber, and Thursday Thoughts with Jamie and Jamie. 

It's Okay....

to write all my blog posts ahead of time.

to go outside with out a coat in 50 degree weather.

that the thought of snow makes me cry. 

to spend an entire day knitting or reading a book. 

that I can start and finish a book in one day.

to spend a week living off of salad and carrots. 

Today would have been my Grandma's 81st birthday if she was still alive. I miss her a lot, and sometimes wonder what she would do if she was still around. I know she would have gone to me wedding, I maybe would have worn her wedding dress. I know she would have helped my mom plan everything, and I know she would cried. But, I wonder what she would have done about all the drama that happened shortly before my wedding. I think about her watching me from Heaven, and I hope that she is proud  of me and knows just how much I love her. I was never able to say Goodbye, and that hurts the most for me. (Sorry to end on a sad note, but today and the day of her death will also be a somber day for me)
